Winter Reunion

So remember that 6 day a week running plan? FAIL.

Assuming that I get a run in tomorrow, I’ll only be able to mark 3 runs down on the training log. I’m not going to make excuses, but hopefully next week will be better.

Now that training is back in full swing, I’ve even went back and hit the pool! I probably haven’t been to the pool since June. No exaggeration. Once it gets warm enough outside I’m all about open water swimming and drop lap swimming like a bad habit.

The fun part about getting into a regular pool routine again is seeing all the friendly faces hanging out at the end of the lane that I haven’t seen in 6 months. It is like we pick up right where we left off. The perfect seasonal friendship. The idea of a “seasonal friendship” is little strange, but a lot of fun.

The plan is to spend a lot more time in the pool this winter. I even got a funny new speedo from Splish to keep my lane buddies entertained for the winter. Introducing, aquaman. Since so many of my blogger peeps have been raving about their custom splish suits, I figured I’d join the club.

This blog is taking on some weird super hero theme lately. Odd.

Anyway, I figure that even if you are in shape, it is pretty hard for guys to pull off looking good in a speedo. So if I can’t look good, I might as well look a little ridiculous and have some fun with it. Right?! I have to admit I feel a little bit like a little kid with superman underwear.

In other news, Boston is getting its first snow of the year! I’m planning on getting out and hitting the trails to enjoying the nice fresh coating of flurries! I’m hoping to grab some scenic pics too. Until then…
