The Aquaman Super-Hero 3,000 Yard Swim Workout

My splish suit has inspired some super-hero themed Friday morning workouts with my Wheelworks team mates. Maybe it just because I look just as tanned and ripped as Michael Lovato, (sarcasm) but here is the workout we did this week.

Granted, I cheated during the 300 yard kick and did a breast stroke kick the whole time. Hey, my kick sucks and it would take me 30 minutes to kick that whole thing.

The Aquaman Super-Hero 3,000 Yard Swim Workout

500 yds Free
4 X 100 Free on 2’
2 X 3 X 50-yd Drill (each 50 yds do Fingertip, Fist, and Catch-up Drill; then repeat)
400 yds Free — Build by 50s (start slow and with each “50” go a bit faster)
400 yds Free — Swim Steady (comfortable exercise pace)
300 yds Kick (with board, zoomers, fins or on side)
500 yds Pull-buoy with Restricted Breathing (RB) by 50s (on each successive 50, breathe every 2, 3, 5 and 7 breaths stroke
200 yds Warm Down (easy swim)

    Haha. I think my backside is pretty nice, but not sure if I can
    compete with ML. I would ask my girlfriend, but she is obviously biased.

    Any man that can have a bum that looks as good as Michael's there in that photo is tops on my list for some oggling behind the goggles. By the way, good swim set.

    Haha. I am currently as pale as the day I was born. These legs haven't seen sunshine since October. I guess my sarcasm didn't come through very well.

    Thanks for the swim workout ideas. My swim workouts were disgustingly boring last year and I have no desire to repeat that this year. Consider yourself bookmarked.

    I haven't tried zoomers yet, but need to invest in my own fins/paddles/bull buoy. The morning lifeguard at my pool is angry and lazy and refuses to bring that stuff out.

    I was just going to say “hey – have you tried zoomers?” and then I scrolled down and read “300 yds Kick (with board, zoomers, fins or on side)”. Whattya know?

    If you ever want some new swim workouts, let me know! I have a few posted under my “train on top” page in the swim edition.. but I have all sorts of random ones saved up.

    p.s. How ARE you so tan? Don't you live in a snowy state?
