Sam caught me wearing a particularly ridiculous gettup on the trainer last night. (Which, to be honest, isn’t all that rare. She just happened to snap a picture this time around.)
It was hot and humid and even with a fan on me, I was sweating buckets. I grabbed a whatever was within reach to keep the sweat out of my eyes. A visor and a towel.
It just so happened that the Trakkers visor was an adorable shade of pink and the towel was so big that draping it across my back like a superhero cape was the only way to have it soak up the sweat but keep it just out of my way.

It almost looks like I’m trying to fly away on my bike. ET-style.
Have a great weekend everyone! Especially everyone out in Portland racing Rev3. I wish I was there with you.

If any of you are interested in tracking me during my first iron distance race tomorrow, here is the info.
I’ll be wearing at Trakkers GPS device. It will broadcast my location and pace along the course to a blinking dot on a google map. You can access it here.

Click on Cedar Point – find my name and hit go.
I won’t be wearing it on the swim. I’ll pick it up once I head out on the bike around 8:30. I’m expecting to cross the finish line between 7 and 8pm tomorrow night if all goes well, but a lot of things can happen in a 140.6 mile race.
Also, if for some reason the GPS device isn’t working, you can track my splits that are picked up at a few points along the course at www.rev3tri.com. There should be a link there for timing. It isn’t there tonight, so if you don’t see it, don’t worry.
See you on the other side of the finish line! Thanks everyone for all your support. I haven’t been able to respond to everyone’s messages, but I’ve read all of them and could not be more grateful.

When racing, race hard.
When volunteering, volunteer hard.
And that was the plan of the day.
Me and a bunch of the team trakkers crew volunteered at the mile one aid station of the Oly run course. Earlier this week I made a trip to the local party store and bought up all the green junk that they had. Pom poms, mardi gras beads, noise makers, grass skirts, it all got thrown in my basket. Needless to say, we were the most exciting/motivating aid station of the whole day.

I was able to do enough hip shaking to distract a few athletes from their leg paid while handing out sports drink. Mission: Accomplished.

But ultimately, that much cheering can really wear a guy a guy out. Not wanting to waste all my energy before MY actual race starts tomorrow, it was clearly time for an afternoon nap before dinner with the fam!

I will be wearing one of these sweet new Trakkers devices, so go to this URL after 7am tomorrow to follow my little blipping green dot move along the Rev3 course in real time and cheer me on while still in your pajamas.

If you haven’t been paying attention or following the fuss on Twitter, a ton of news is coming out of the Trakkers crew lately.
Last weekend, the Trakkers pros had a camp down in Texas and Ironman.com had some great coverage of all of the festivities.
Ironman.com Trakkers Camp Coverage:

The big news of the weekend was the throwdown against team Trek-KSwiss. Here is how it went down on Twitter:
- Michael Lovato: Team Trakkers is calling Trek-KSwiss to a race. We bet $5k our team beats yours at in Knoxville May 9. Be there, or we win!
- And Trek/KSwiss Tri Team response? Said team co-manager Nick Howe on his handle, TrekSpeed: Anywhere, Any time. Any day. We gladly accept.
- Julie Dibens: Can’t sleep! Woke myself up laughing cos I dreamt I saw Michael Lovato crying like a baby at the side of the road in Knoxville! Bring it ML.
- Lovato: Hey Julie, those were tears of joy you saw. I always get emotional after a crushing victory.
- Lovato: Hey Julie we hope u get your mojo back soon, we don’t want Trek-KSwiss to race without their strongest athlete.
- Dibens: Michael you are trying to kill me with kindness! I like your style… but I won’t fall for it!
Teams seem to be the trend in the triathlon world. What the Trakkers crew is trying to do is make the team dynamic more than just a group of athletes with the same race kit, but actually start scoring races cross country style rather than just through individual results.

All this hoopla makes me pretty frustrated that I don’t think I’ll be able to make it to Rev3 Knoxville. My work schedule just doesn’t look flexible enough to allow for the 14 hour road trip down to Tennessee. I’m hoping I can pull some last minute trip to race there. Plus, that will mean that I’ll have raced every single Rev3 race since I’m already signed up for Quassy and Cedar Point later this year, which would be pretty awesome…
